Our Heart
To make disciples and plant churches in the Tulsa metro.
Vintage Baptist Church is a confessional Baptist church plant in Bixby, Oklahoma, part of the Tulsa metropolitan area. The church affirms the Nicene Creed (AD 325 and 381) and, more narrowly, the New Hampshire Confession of Faith (1833), broadly within the doctrinal framework of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Vintage Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, elder-led, and congregationally ruled. Chancellor Stillwell serves as planting pastor.

Meet the Pastor
Chancellor Stillwell
Chancellor Stillwell serves as planting pastor of Vintage Baptist Church. Born and raised in Oklahoma, Chancellor sensed a call to ministry while attending Oklahoma Baptist University, where he met his eventual wife Emily Sechrist. After graduating in 2018, he moved to North Carolina to begin his studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Over the next eight years, he would marry Emily and have two children: Adaline and Violet.
While completing his studies, he began serving as the Student Pastor and then Discipleship Pastor of The Church at Clayton Crossings in Clayton, NC.
Having completed his Masters of Divinity and Ph.D. in Preaching, he looks forward to returning to Oklahoma to plant a new gospel-centered church in Bixby.
As for fun facts, he’s decent at disc golf, reads a lot, and makes a pretty good cup of coffee. Now that he’s done with school, you can find him struggling in his garden and reading Wendell Berry.

Confessional, on purpose.
Vintage Baptist Church is confessional, meaning the church formally subscribes to written doctrinal confessions rather than leaving its convictions unstated.

The Need
A metro growing faster than the church.
Bixby has more than doubled in population since 2000, from 13,336 residents to 31,728 in 2024, crossing 30,000 for the first time in 2023 (U.S. Census Bureau). Bixby Public Schools enrollment reached 8,374 in 2024–25 and is projected past 9,000 by 2028 (NCES / Tulsa World, 2025). The surrounding Tulsa metropolitan area now holds more than 1,059,803 people (U.S. Census Bureau, 2024).
Meanwhile, an estimated 60% of Oklahomans are functionally unchurched on any given Sunday (Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, Hidden Harvest Study), and Oklahoma Christian identification has dropped from 85% to approximately 71% since 2007 (Pew Research, 2024).
